With the possible exception of Greg Abel following Warren Buffet, there’s probably been no tougher succession with more pressure than what Tim Cook faced when he took over Apple from Steve Jobs 15 years ago. Cook has done a magnificent job leading Apple and doing it in a totally different way than Jobs did. The company is now one of the most valuable in the world with a cult-like status, retail stores that are anchors on their communities, and a value has grown 13-fold under Cook. He’s led a new Apple in a new digital world in both hardware and software. And if Apple’s success in AI is similar, one has to think that based on past history Apple will figure it out and become a visionary leader in the field. Tim Cook is now handing over the CEO role to John Ternus after proving there is a future succeeding a legendary figure. We are optimistic that Apple will continue in its tradition of leadership that moves this iconic brand to the next level without losing what made it great in the first place. Extraordinary.
