We’re always talking about HomeGoods and RH as stars in the home space but we really need to remember that one of the most established players in the sector—and one of the largest—is Williams Sonoma and its combination of West Elm and Pottery Barn home décor brands with its namesake kitchenware nameplate. These popular stalwarts have weathered a history of challenging economic conditions. That’s the case once again this week when the retailer’s Q4 and full-year financial results not only exceeded analyst forecasts but did so with gusto. By being the best-in-class omnichannel model operator it continues to outperform just about anybody else selling its extensive array of home merchandise. Now with its eco-friendly Green Row brand opening its first physical store this month, it’s signaling it has another go-to nameplate to further its reach into the home space. Williams Sonoma is both well-rounded and well-run.
