I bet we’re not alone when we say we’re getting a little tired of the never-ending Amazon Prime Day promotion. Data service Numerator just reported that shoppers say they are “less excited” about the event than they used to be, and can you really blame them? It seems Prime Days show up on the calendar with increasing frequency and longer runs than ever. C’mon Amazon, you guys are really creative, and you have reinvented retail marketing. You mean to tell me you can’t come up with something new? This predictable Prime Day schtick is getting as stale as Macy’s One Day Sales and Kohl’s coupons. Sure, they work, but wouldn’t a new spin work even better? We have to say it: Prime Day is past its prime.
